Kickboxing practice
Jul. 17th, 2008 09:22 pmOr, how to get endorphins flowing
Warmup:
- One burpee, then run across the room; then another two burpees and run across the room; then another three burpees … up to ten burpees, then run across the room. Shadowbox until everyone's caught up.
- One pushup, then run across the room; then another two pushups … up to ten pushups, then run across the room and shadowbox.
- One jump-squat, then run across the room … up to ten jump-squats.
- One full sit-up, then run across the room … up to ten sit-ups.
That all adds up to 55 of each exercise, plus 40 runs across the room, plus some shadowboxing (not very much for me…).
We also did some more burpees in between sparring drills—four sets of 30 seconds each, so they were timed rather than counted. My condition isn't what you'd call good
, nor in fact in the neighbourhood thereof, so I'm guessing I squeezed out roughly another 20 burpees altogether—plus the actual sparring drills and some clinch work and the five minutes of ab exercises at the end. I'm not saying that my form is good, but that still adds up to an awful lot of burpees for a computer geek with a geek physique.
I'm really rather tired, and in desparate need of a shower once I have enough energy.
